I'm thrilled to announce the arrival of my cookbook Shrimp Country: Recipes and Tales from the Southern Coasts (University Press of Florida, September 2016). I drove 3,000+ miles from the Gulf of Mexico's South Padre Island to Swanquarter, North Carolina as I wrangled recipes, interviewed marine biologists and historians, hung out with trawler captains and basically had the time of my life. It's tough work, but somebody had to do it! The book includes 100+ recipes from families and chefs all along the coasts, paired with lots of stories and salty quotes. Bon appetit!
